Do you think a brand new 2021 WRX STI can last me a long time?

I leased a 2015 WRX, and a 2018 WRX. I'm getting ready to start working mostly from home. I will drive under 6k miles per year. If I do all the oil changes, and maintenance myself and keep it stock do you think it can last me for 8-10 years? I'm a huge Subaru fan and always wanted an STI but I know of head gasket problems. Thanks Scotty, you're the best!

I mean, it could. It comes down to maintenance like any other machine. You are driving really low miles so I'd say it could easily make it if you take care of it.

Yes. Key is to keep it stock.  The EJ25 motor has been well sorted for years (I believe this is the end of that engine’s production) and is designed in anticipation of amateur mods and tunes. It can handle a lot of abuse, and well cared for in stock form will easily go 200,000 miles.

The downside is that the 21 STI is a terrible daily. It is loud, rough, and a chore to drive in traffic.  But as few miles as you predict, it should be ok.

And then if you get it out on a mountain road every now and then... 😎

PS: the head gaskets will be fine.  They’re fine.
