Hi Scotty, I have a 91 Dodge Stealth RT Twin Turbo. 15,500 miles, 5-speed tranny, all-wheel drive. Went to take it for a drive and the clutch pedal won't go down far enough to start the car or put it in gear. It actually feels like I'm pushing on the brake pedal.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Jack
This is a tricky question because there are a few different issues that can cause this. I'm going to give you the simplest one to look into and we can go from there. If you look at your transmission you should see a brake line going to what looks like a hydraulic wheel cylinder. Its typically mounted somewhere on the side of the transmission near the linkage. This hydraulic cylinder has a push rod attached to it. Closely inspect that part and the push rod for damage or anything that looks out of place. Have a friend depress the clutch and see if it moves and how much. That would be the first place to start looking. Let us know what you see and I will follow this post and wait for your reply.
Thank you for the prompt reply. That's a great start, I will jack it up and see what I come up with and get back to you.
Thanks again,
Jack
