I have a 93 honda accord and it's having some problems with idling in park and neutral. It goes to about 1500 rpm then drops to 1000. it does it whenever I drive it for a little bit or rev it. I cleaned the throttle body and fast control valve, and changed the idle control valve. I checked for vacuum leaks but to no avail. It slightly goes away whenever I press on the valve thing on the throttle body closed really had it goes away but as soon as I release it starts again
So the issue is the throttle body. Clean it perfectly with throttle body cleaner. Also check the throttle cable and make sure it works fine.
how do I check the throttle cable? Do I check it when the car is on and revs? Or just moving the lever thing on the side of the throttle body?
I forgot to mention that the nut that's on the side of the throttle body (were you manually rev) was lose and I tightened it is there a torc spec to it? or do I have to touch the Throttle position sensor?
For the throttle body cable, you wanna make sure it is not too tight that revs up the engine while idling. This is the case for the nut you talked about.
