93 Toyota Pickup Brake shimmy

Hey Scotty,

I’ve got a 93 Toyota Pickup 4x4 with standard transmission with 389,000 miles on the clock. My dad bought it new and passed it down to me about 5 years ago. Everything on it is still running strong except about a month ago i took it to my mechanic to replace the rear brake shoes because the emergency brake wasn’t holding when I parked it on a hill. When i picked it up to take it home the front end will shimmy and shake bad when stopping. Mechanic suggested the front rotors were warped but it didn’t have the problem until i took it to him to change the rear brakes. There’s no shaking in the steering wheel which is what I heard indicated bad rotors.

What do you think? Do you think it may be the rotors or should I check something else first?

Thanks!

Check to see if your mechanic took it on a joy ride and hit a curb.
