2020 Chrysler Voyager reliability opinions

Scotty, your technical memory and daily videos are fantastic. We are in the market for a minivan. We are currently renting a 2020 Chysler Voyager and like it. JD power, Edmunds and Consumer Reports do not have much reliability info available for these newer vehicles.

Are they reliable and how many miles can you expect to get out of the power train before expensive problems?

A 2020 Chrysler Voyager with 60K miles goes for $26K! We want to be sure we don't make a very expensive mistake.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

JD Power, Edmunds, and Consumer Reports are not accurate indicators of reliability. Late model Chrysler products have been prone to electrical problems and weak transmissions. Others may be able to fill you in on the specifics of that particular model, but Chrysler's recent track record suggests caution.

Get a Toyota Sienna.

Well it's a fancy pile of junk.

It's based on a platform developed by Fiat, to be used on the Alpha Romeo Giulietta.

The transmission on that thing is junk too, it was developed for budget Fiats and unreliable British luxury cars.

It's as bad as they get.

JD power, Edmunds and Consumer Reports

Well neither of these is a reliable source, consumer reports tries to be honest but their predictions tends to be very inaccurate.

Well, in NA there were never really any amazing minivans (like the Grand C4 SpaceTourer)

And there aren't any efficient inexpensive SUVs that perform like Minivans (like the 2nd generation 5008)

If you need the 7 seats? try to find a used Sienna...

If you don't need that many seats, I'd add a bit and get a new CH-R or a Corolla Cross - both are awesome cars.

Pass on any Chrysler products.  When it comes to vehicles’ reliability, you cannot trust JD Power, Edmunds, or Consumer Reports.  Listen to what Scotty, Car Wizard, and this forum have to say.
