Is a 96 3.8 V6 Chevy Camaro base model a good car? Found one for $2,000 but brake and air bag light on.

Is this going to be a daily driver, a weekend car, or....?  As a daily, that’s a 25+ year vehicle now.

Just a toy. Got an 09 auto accord one I'm looking for my first stick shift, something cheap seems nice. Just don't know about lights.

Depends on what you want to use it for.

As a weekend toy, only if a mechanic checks out the car & gives it a clean chit.

@Kerem He is looking at the V6 cars. The V8's were LT1 motors, the V6 had the 3800 series V6. Good motors, but not LT1 V8 good. The LS1 V8' were 1998 - 2002. Just mentioning it. {black}:face:

Thanks Mod Man
Don't know much about Camaros,

The GM 3.6 V6 is a good engine I guess perfect weekend toy

They aren't hard to find in salvage yards if anything major breaks.  The V6 cars aren't particularly valuable.  If you want to have it to play with why not?  Just check the usual stuff make sure it's not going to blow up or something.

ABS brake light on you can drive the car, the other red brake light on indicates a problem.  These cars with ABS are a pain to work on, it should at least be OBD-II so you can put a scan tool on it and check for problems.  Usually with age sensors fail from dirt or corrosion.

Airbag light could be the same deal, an issue in the switches or some other thing.  You can just unplug the wiring and go without for a toy.
