Hey Scotty,
I removed my upper and lower intake this weekend on my 97 Pathfinder V6 auto with 181,000 miles. I replaced the fuel injectors (hitachi), IACV, coolant hoses, cleaned the upper and lower intakes, new gaskets, new egr gasket, fuel rail seals that go into the lower intake.
I took a drive on the highway and some city. The vehicle is running smooth and idling normally in park and in drive. Smoother than before the job was done. It used to idle rough but not anymore. And there is no odd issues when driving.
The intakes are tightened down properly. I did actually strip the thread on the lower intake farthest right back bolt hole. It wasn’t much but there was a lot of good threads still below so I got a longer bolt and it tightened down good. I guess the torque ratchet wasn’t working good. So I ditched it and went by feel. Nothing leaking.
I’ll check back the egr valve. I think I’m hearing some air noise from there. I disconnected it from the intake, but installed back with new Nissan gasket. It’s hard to tell though with the engine on.
Additionally the check light came on just now for a bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor. PO156. This code was not there before.
If you have any ideas maybe something needs adjustment?
Well if you have a vacuum leak that can often trip an oxygen sensor code. Do my video finding engine vacuum leaks with a cigar Scotty
