Hey scotty love your videos. What is your opinion on a 1998 Ford Explorer with the V8 with 128,000 for 3850? From what I’ve heard the V8 of those years is a very reliable motor and the transmission is somewhat decent. Is it worth it? Ive been looking at getting an SUV.

It does not worth that much, this truck is 23 years old. The automatic transmission is on the weak side. I would pay $1500 top.

Not only are they asking too much, I would avoid Ford Explorer of that time period with automatic transmissions. This is a commonly asked about car, but to sum it up it isn't worth half of what they are asking and the transmissions are notoriously weak; see here:

The car has so many complaints for the age, usually no one bothers lol. Anyways, just like today, they are also electrical nightmares.

If you do somehow decide to buy it, make sure to have a mechanic check it out. I would recommend looking into a Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot as well, make sure to avoid years that have problems using the site above. Good luck!
