I've got a manual '98 Volkswagen GTI VR6 with about 54,000 miles and no obd2 error codes with failing power locks. To get in I have to manually unlock the driver side door with the key and lift up the door lock pin on the passenger side. Do you know how I could fix it?

Well you really need to buy directional Volkswagen scan tool to analyze those systems. But since you have to pick the one up by hand I'm assuming that that motor is probably broken on that door but they're pretty complicated systems and without a Volkswagen dealer scan tool you're pretty much pissing in the wind trying to analyze it. You can check for electrical shorts in the system sometimes the wires pinch where the doors open and close check that part first
