Mr. Scotty Whatty Doo-Dah:

I love💘love this car!  I can't seem to find a strong source of used tires on the internet for my lady.  I like sets of 4. Would you know of any? Ty

P.S. I have viewed many of your videos repetitiously, all the while taking copious notes.  Yet my love has never received honorable mention.  An oversite perhaps?

I never deal with used tires. Tires are the only thing between your car and the road.

Get good, new ones.

Tires and brakes are the two areas I advise people to never cut corners. Doing so can get you killed.

Couldn’t agree more! They’re critical to the safety of yourself & other road users.

If you really love her, you’ll buy her a set of 4 brand new tyres..

Truth!

Why buy someone else's rejects? You can get new ones at wally World for around $45, ea.

I thought that they don't sell them anymore. Maybe it was only here in Canada where they stopped selling them.

I just bought a set of WalMart's "Douglas" tires for one of my little-used vehicles. They're decent tires made by Goodyear, set of 4 cost a little over $200 and another $60 for mounting and balancing. Not all WalMarts have service bays though here in the U.S., maybe those were dropped entirely in Canada.

Maybe it was Canada only. Do you know @mountainmanjoe

I'd buy Chinese tires before I bought used.

In all due respect, you came in talking kind of cute. If you think you got roughed-up a little, big deal, this is nothing compared to other forums I belong to. You got an answer and apparently don't like it.

Never cheap out on things that go between you and the floor. That encompasses tyres, shoes and mattresses.

Buy new ones for the love of God....

Loll mattresses!

very accurate! Idea

While I don't recommend used tires the best place to find them would be places like Craigslist or Kijiji. You can also get them from junkyards.

You want Scotty's opinion? Alright here it is. I went to Scotty's channel and searched it just for you!

And by the way, when I was young and broke, I bought "as-is" junkyard tires once (and never again.) They looked perfect from the outside. Balanced too.
A little while later they were rattling my teeth. Something inside separated and they developed bulges. Spectacular waste of money.

I'm pretty far from a "nervous nellie" . I do many of the things most people here say not to do. But I don't waste my time on used tires. Consider that maybe people say things not because they're nervous, but because life has taught them to be smarter.

I have found over the years that sometimes you can find "take offs", that is, somebody buys a new vehicle but wants snazy wheels and tires so they sell the basically new ones at a big discount.  Check Craigslist and look for the term "Take Offs."

A lot guys with new 4Runners do this because they want heavier duty tires for off-roading.

Buying used tyres from private individuals is common where I live. Interesting fact, I bought winter tyres from a man who was the 1st owner of my car.

Gentlemen or Nervous Nellies we have here!  I couldn't disagree more. I've shopped and owned used tires for many-many years.  For those of you who don't know what you are looking at or haven't read tire reviews and educated yourselves Mr. Engineer and Expert on tire recalls you've missed out on great bargains.  If used tires were as dangerous as you fear, used tire shops would have been ruined and put out of business by lawyers long ago. Stay with your limousines and their brand new tires.  I haven't got money to burn as they do at the Weeburn Country Club.  I only wish you would allow Mr. Scotty to answer my question even if privately. I'll close by saying America didn't become the great country it was by timidity and clean hands.  That is why soap was invented.  Such know-it-alls-here. Aren't you members seeking advice here?  Good grief! Make America Great Again!

You are going to get honest opinions/recommendations/suggestions on this forum from people that care and want the best for the poster.  Please understand that. If you disagree with the “Answers” and/or don’t like them, then continue on your chosen path;  we are all adults here and can make our own informed decisions (based on facts and research), no need to get upset about it - I wish you all the best.

If you get lucky, Scotty will answer your question in a video.
