Drove with handbrake

Hey Scotty, great YouTube show.

I have a 2000 Camry, 4-speed automatic, 208,000 miles.

Someone mistakenly drove my car about 12 miles with the handbrake engaged. I’m wondering if something could have been damaged or if I have anything to worry about?

Thanks

yes it can get wheels + hubs smoking hot and do damage like melt wheel speed sensors. You should remove the wheels and inspect immediately.

If anything it just caused premature wear to the brake. Check and see if it still works and still engages/disengages correctly. If so, I'd call it good. But don't make a habit out of it obviously.
