1999 Honda Odyssey

168k miles

3.5 motor

Some ppl say don’t buy em. Well I have one and that’s what I’m stuck with. Maybe after I fix this I can sell it and buy a Toyota Sienna.

Transmission shifts decently smooth. No slips or hard shifts, well recently noticing a very small hard shift. TCS light has been on since I got the car. Didn’t know what it stood for. Now I find out it’s probably transmission.

Sooooo, It’s code P0740. Only tranny code I have. What exact parts do I need. I’ve done a little research. So Shift solenoid A and B is what I’m hearing can very well be the cause. I’m going to change all solenoids probably eventually to get it over with

Heres the part numbers I was given.

28500-P6H-013

and 28400-P6H-013

Anyone have experience with these issues and where exactly is these parts located. Gonna try junk yard parts for a bit if I can find them

**Also can I find these parts off of another type of car other than a odyssey, like maybe a accord or something?**

Are they interchangeable?!!

Thank you all for the help.

P0740 is the Torque Converter Clutch Circuit. Unless your mechanic said to replace shift solenoid A and shift solenoid B, the main concerns you would have to look at is:

  1. Color of the transmission fluid
  2. Torque Converter
  3. TCC Solenoid
  4. Wiring

Check with a mechanic if the torque converter or TCC solenoid has gone bad. If it needs to be replaced, only buy OEM for that vehicle.

Interchangeability is always tricky, since your car is a 99 you should be able to find em from years 1998-2007ish for your model if I recall correctly, to expand the search you can probably Google if it has been used in Acura or not as well
