Hi Scotty,

I have been looking for a good car. And I have my eye on a 9t generation Honda civic hatchback with the 1.8 engine (manual transmission). Is this a good car? What are problems to look out for? I think the sedan looks better. But that model isn't sold in The Netherlands so that's why I'm looking at the hatchback. Here is an example: https://www.autowereld.nl/honda/civic/1-8-sport-camera-cruise-airco-33876595/details.html

I've always liked the civic hatchbacks, I put a quarter million miles each on three... an 85, 89, and a 94.   All stick shifts and the only reason they stranded me was failed ignition coils, so I always carried a spare.   After that, the hatch design changed and it lost it's utilitarian feature for me, so I switched to the Vibe/Matrix.   Still an excellent choice, but if that model isn't sold on your part of the world, finding repair parts could be difficult and expensive.

Problems are unlikely.  Very reliable.  Looks sharp.  Always offer a lower price.
