I just purchased a 2006 Lexus RX330 with 93,000 miles. It runs perfectly. I just replaced the belts, radiator hoses, thermostat, timing belt, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, and tensioner. The fan belts are not loose, but I get a squealing noise from the A/C compressor when it engages. Am I looking at a new compressor?

Yes. It is the a/c clutch, sorry to say. This car lived its life in hot weather since new. The a/c got used a lot. I will have the compressor replaced, fortunately we have a very good a/c guy in our area that does only a/c work. Thanks for your feed back.

Or an AC clutch, if you can find one.
Have you eliminated all the other pulleys as the source/s of the squealing?
