2015 VW Jetta TDI 106,000 MILES
Start up car put on a/c, car takes awhile to get cold Car runs for about 5 minutes and warm air come out, car runs for about 9 minutes, then air is cold again, cold for about 6 minutes and air is warm again, then about 2 minutes later cold air and then air stays cold
What is wrong?

On your Sanden compressor the likely culprit is the A/C Compressor Control Solenoid Valve. Don't buy a cheap one. A good one costs around $50. It's held on with a snap ring. (You'll have to have the refrigerant evacuated/recovered to replace the valve and then recharged after).
