Hi Scotty. I have an automatic 2003 ford ranger v6 4.0 with ~ 72,000 miles. I’ve tried to fix the idling issue but have had no luck. The truck dies at French at a low idle or even if I’m slowly moving through a parking it’ll die sometimes. If it’s not dying then it’ll at least shake and lose power instantly and then regain power. All of the spark plugs were replaced, the o2 sensors have all been ready replaced, the throttle body has been cleaned, the idle air control valve’s been replaced, the MAF sensor has been replaced, the fuel filter has been replaced, I’ve replaced a couple bad hoses and cannot see any others going bad, the oil was last changed this past December. All of the above replacements were done within the last year. There has never been a single code come up for any of this for some reason.
thank you for your time
Well, if you're anywhere near Clarksville, Tennessee, I'll check it out free. Want to hook up my advanced scan so I can always find what the problem is on the vehicle. There are so many things can possibly do it. It would make your head spin. You don't need codes. If you're a good mechanic like me, you analyze the live data and that will show what area has a problem. It could be anything from a blowing head gasket to a vacuum leak
