So I was wondering if I should buy a 2004 Acura TL V6 with 268,000k miles on it, it is a one owner car and is in good shape, I googled it that this year and model can go up to 300,000k or 400,000k doing the required maintenance.
They're selling it for $1,500. My budget is $2,000
What do you guys recommend??
The automatic transmissions on those TLs were a little weak so have a mechanic thoroughly inspect the car to make sure it still shifts properly. You’re right, those TLs are fun to drive and pretty reliable. If a mechanic checks it and it’s in good condition, that could be a great car. $1500 is a fair price for that car - just don’t expect the car to be perfect.
automatic transmission were garbage on those they were recalled but the replacement part was also weak I'd pass
There is no way you'd get 400k miles on the same transmission
