AC blow back

I have a 2009 nissan versa manual. Every year for about five years I have to recharge the refrigerant in the summer and usually it is good for the summer. This year it emptied by the next day. Upon further inspection I discovered that it will retain refrigerant as long as the car is not running. When I turn the car and ac on it dumps immediately I can hear it, not sure where it is coming from. I know it has a leak because I have to refill it every year, but I dont think the dumping of refrigerant is due to that, maybe a blockage in the condenser or the expansion valve is bad. Hoping you can give me some insight.

A blockage or bad expansion valve would not cause a leak. Use dye or an electronic detector to find it.
