I’m working on a 2015 Silverado 2500 HD AC system. I found out that the compressor was cracked and the R-134a had leaked out. The oil also leaked out, so how do I determine how much oil to add to compressor.
If you are buying a replacement compressor, the tech sheet should tell you how much to add. The amount is very critical for proper operation.

What I would do is google the make/model of your car for a new AC compressor install to see what turns up. When I did my Honda CRV I found it that way. Once installed I brought it to a Firestone and told them its a new AC compressor install and to do a complete vaccum of the system, leak test and recharge.
