1991 Silverado Fuel Pump ID

I have a 1991 Chevy Silverado 4WD Manual with 189,000 miles on it. 2 years and 1 month ago I had the fuel tank replaced. I also paid to have the pump and sending unit replaced. 2 weeks ago the pump failed (only 3800 miles since it ws supposedly replaced). The guy who towed & fixed it gave me the pump he removed. We both agreed it was not replaced 2 years ago. The parts and labor to fix was $400. I'm getting nowhere toward a resolution with the shop that replaced the tank. I don't recall ever having the pump replaced before and think it might be the original.

1) Would I have a case in small claims court?

2) What would I bring as far as proving the pump was not replaced?  The pump that came off has AC stamped on it and the number 2820.

You could go to small claims court just realized then the guy if he's in a butthead can just appeal it then you have to go to a regular court and hire a lawyer gets to be a mess.
