2004 Mazda 6 3.0L
The vehicle is making a growling sound. I suspect it’s from the a/c compressor clutch/pulley as I’ve tested all other pulleys. The different sound is from me turning on and off the a/c which is why I suspect compressor pulley. Sounds to me like that AC clutch is shot. The noise may even be coming from inside the compressor, which would not be good news. (Some AC clutches do have an adjustable air gap that can compensate for clutch wear.) You might want to carefully use a mechanic's stethoscope to verify the source of the noise.
