ac compressor pulley making a whining noise but the air conditioning works perfect .
what would be a good strategy to stop the whining noise?
I have the same issue that's been going on for a few months. I just replaced the belt hoping that would eliminate the noise and it did help slightly but it's still there. I'm just gonna do what Scotty says and 'see what happens'. The mechanic that did the belt change also checked the pulleys and said they were OK, so basically just wait until something breaks. Try the belt swap and pray!
Replace the fan belt and see what happens if that doesn't fix it it means a compressors just wearing and it's your choice replace it with a new one or live with the noise
Thank you Scotty, the problem is the ac clutch assembly and Honda sale the clutch assembly separately from the compressor and I am willing to charge that but all the mechanic I talk to , dose not want to replace the clutch, they all want to do the easy job , which is replace the whole compressor with the clutch together and throw away a working Honda compressor.which is better the replacement part or the original Honda compressor? That’s my point Sir.
