AC High side low Low side high

2007 Toyota corolla. Never worked on the AC on this car. All original.

Start the car.  AC works for 10 15 minutes then quits. 39 degrees out of the center vent. Have to wait until many hours later for the AC to run again.

Checked refrig levels. Low side is high. High side is low.

How do I know if it is the: ewhat to fix? expansion valve, orifice tube, compressor, clutch?

When it quits working is the compressor clutch engaged? What are your actual system pressures when the AC is working versus not working?

It's pretty likely that you've lost some refrigerant over the last 15-16 years. The only way to know you have the correct amount is to evacuate and recharge the system.
