AC issue on 2006 F-150

Hello Scotty. We have a 2006 F-150 Lariat 5.4 V8 automatic trans with over 249,000 miles on it. I notice that when it idles the AC will not blow cold air, but as soon as it picks up speed to about 40 - 50 miles per hour it starts blowing cold air from then on at any speeds. But when it stops and idles for a certain period it will not blow cold air again. We've already took it to get the AC fixed and paid nearly a grand and the problem still persist. Can you please help? Is it time to look for a newer truck?

Sounds like the classic symptom of the condenser fan not working. I experience the same thing with my car on hot sunny days (over 90 degrees) since the condenser fan is shot.

The condenser fan is on the grille side. Take a look and see if it's running when you turn the AC on.
