I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 with 165,000 miles on it. The ac button will not light up when pushed,has proper refrigerant charge for system what would you suggest. Thank you

Open the hood and make sure the condenser fan comes on when you turn the AC on

so, just the button doesn't light up, or the actual air doesn't get cold?

It could be any number of things. You need to do some electrical troubleshooting. (Fuses and relays would be a good place to start.) A shop manual for that vehicle can be found at charm.li.
