I have a 1991 Toyota Camry 4Cyl with approximately 215,000 miles. The AC has worked excellently until recently. I assume it has the original R12. What is your recommendation for salvaging the system? Do I need to do a retrofit and if so, what is the process?

If your AC system still has R12a refrigerant unless you have access to a stash of the stuff, which has not been used in decades, you'll need to convert to R134a.
