Greetings, I have a 2008 Acura MDX with about 230K miles. The vehicle had a minor leak and no one could figure out the cause. Months later, as I was driving home it appeared to slip out of gear but rebounded. The next morning I noticed a large amount of reddish brown fluid on the front passenger side of my garage floor, it appeared to roll down the front tire. This same fluid was in the radiator and reservoir. I had someone look at it and they claimed it was the radiator and that my car had no transmission fluid. I replaced the radiator, but when I started the car, I quickly turned it off and discovered that some fluid may have gone into the transmission. I am still eager to try to fix the car, because like I said I haven't had any issues before this. I am thinking of changing the trans cooler and flushing the trans. I'm in Clarksville, TN and would love any help you can offer.
It sounds like the trans cooler inside the radiator has leaked. If coolant got into the transmission it's pretty much done for. Since you're in Clarksville you might want to see about making an appointment with Scotty to check it out. Instructions are in the FAQ.
