Hello everyone! i was wondering if acura/honda’s 5 speed automatic transmissions are any good with their Sh all wheel drive system. i want to buy an acura RL 2006-2008 with 3.5 V6 5 speed automatic and Sh-all wheel drive system. would that transmission be well with that system and will the car last at least 5 years i’m looking for ones under 120 thousand miles i’ll mostly be doing highway miles and will have a mechanic check the car
Like @yaser mentioned, you need proof of the service history of the vehicle, because the transmissions are the weakest link of most Honda products. Acuras can get expensive to fix as they age, so be sure on the PPI.
The transmission on these cars is a weak point. With that being said, you need to make sure the previous owner(s) changed it religiously with Honda Fluid.
