Acura MDX Transmission shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd & reverse to drive

2002 Acura MDX 220,000 miles, strong well maintained engine. Shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd & reverse to drive most but not always. Mechanic says to replace Trans. I got the P0730 code. I am planning to test the Dual Linear Solenoid plus clean out the little steel cylinder. Also test the other 3 solenoids plus clean out the steel cylinder screen under the DLS. I have no records of the last Trans fluid change and it's starting to show a bit dirty. If it's none of the before mentioned is it worth replacing the Trans or run it until it drops out on the road? My Daughters car but Dad's footing the bill regardless. {black}

I have no records of the last Trans fluid change and it's starting to show a bit dirty.

Start with the simple things since that code can be caused due to dirty fluid -

Before you change the ATF, feel free to have a read through this -
