If Honda is dropping in quality, what about its luxury division, Acura? Is it experiencing a similar thing with Honda?
Main reason for the Honda Quality drop in various ratings is the new 1.5L engine that combines both turbocharging and direct fuel injection.
Scotty indicated that previous Honda engines with turbocharging and port injection were Ok. It was only when they added direct injection to the turbo-charged engines that oil-dilution was a problem.
In the case of the Acura ILX the 1.5L direct injection engine is not used, so that model should be Ok.
Other Acura model could be affected.
Acura's are getting more complicated, and its basically the premium division of Honda, and the quality is dropping a bit. Specifically with transmissions and oil burning and all that stuff we see in the last 10 years.
Acura is of course our fancy Hondas and Honda quality is going down somewhat
