I came on this issue few weeks before after a brief rain, I don't know if rain dropped in my door switches or in my door keyhole while unlocking the door to get in, what can i do to fix this issue, what can i do to prevent it ?

The window switches are really exposed to rain if i briefly open the door or roll down the windows, thank you for any advice on this topic, appreciate any help and I'm concerned of me breaking my car, is my first car

Also cigarette lighter 12V doesn't work as well, never did any ideas if i can fix it ?

Thank you in advance love the scotty Kilmer YouTube channel

Make, model, year, mileage?

It's a good bet that water got past the window seals and into the wiring inside the door(s). Water and electricity don't mix well. Easiest place to start is check fuses in case it was a temporary short circuit.

For the lighter I would also check the fusebox. Someone may have shorted it out or plugged in something that pulled too much current.

Its a Volkswagen Polo 9n 2005 100500km, i fixed the lighter with a new fuse, and disassembled the door, turns out is the window motor regulator, sadly there wasn't any layer of protection from moisture (like a nylon layer with sealant), and is exposed still, gonna try and fix it by dismantling the motor regulator and spraying WD40, what do you guys think ?
