Need a new alternator for my 04 Corolla. Is it a good idea to go aftermarket? Any good sites to go buying for these?

Is it a good idea to go aftermarket?

it depends on the brand, the difference in price, and how easy it is to replace on your car.

If you visit rockauto.com they grade the parts by quality.

I know they are crazy easy to switch on an 05 matrix, likely the exact same on the corolla. Took me maybe 30 minutes and I was taking my time. I could probably do it in 15 minutes now, if a Bolt doesn't stick.

I’d go OEM and not mess around.

I wish I could have, couldn't find one for my 05 matrix, just reman.

I couldn't get an OEM new alternator for my 05 matrix. It is likely the same as on an 04 corolla.

Instead of going reman I went with a new remy, they seemed to have good reviews, and it was only $150 from rockauto.

It has a 2 year warranty. The other alternative is going with an auto parts store with a lifetime warranty.

If going reman, I would go Denso.

Why not? Get one from your local Auto Parts chain store with a lifetime warranty
