Trouble starting when cold

I have a 2012 Silverado with a 4.8 L engine. It was parked for a couple of years and about a year ago I gave it to my son when he got his license. Worked Fine but after a couple months I found that we had to crank the engine a long time before it we kuldip start. A few people said it was the fuel pump so I replaced it and no change. Brought it to dealer and they said the alcohol lever was set at 86 and it was only supposed to be around 4. After they reset this the truck seemed to start ok for a little while but then started acting up again. I have had it reset two more times and the same happens. Any idea on what’s causing it. I’m assuming something going on with a sensor, any ideas for me to try.

Where there be no reason to have to keep resetting it. So obviously there's a problem with the fuel sensor system. I would have a real pro check that one out and see if the sensor is giving wrong data. I'm assuming you have a flex fuel vehicle and those are so complex. I advise people not even to buy them because when they break yeah cost of fortune to fix them and half the guys have no idea what they're doing working on them so they just guess what parts

Thanks for the info, I will have to take it to a dealer. The first dealer said the fuel module had to be reset, the second dealer said the alcohol level was set too high. One dealer us a three hour drive and the other is a five hour drive.
