Hi everyone, I still have my 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer that I’m planning on changing the transmission fluid. Is it ok If I use the Full synthetic STP CVT fluid, on the back of the bottle it says it’s good with Mitsubishi CVT-J1 and J4 which is what my transmission uses. I saw the reviews and apparently a lot of Nissan CVT owners say this stuff works great. I just don’t want to pay the dealer for their overpriced stuff.

The STP fluids are excellent quality and as long as it says it is compatible with your transmission you can use it.

I've used Castrol Transmax CVT fluid in my Sentra with no problems.
The transmissions fall apart with "official" Nissan fluid, so how can aftermarket fluid be any worse?
