i have replaced my old coolant ....what is the correct way to fill the coolant with proper air bleed from the cooling system......i didnt remove the thermostat with coolant replacement and draining?? what are signs of air in the cooling system??
Raise the front end of the car so the heater core is below the radiator. Sitting level, it's the highest point in the cooling system. You don't want that.
Start the car, turn the heater to max heat and slowly add coolant as it "burps" out and the coolant level decreases. When the coolant stops burping, fill the radiator up to the base of the radiator neck and reach inside the passenger cabin to check for heat. If the heater core is working normally, you won't be able to hold your hand in the heated air very long.
