Hi Scotty
I need to replace couple of coolant hoses for 12 Fd transit connect. I changed 2-3 hoses paying them 1k now again same problem bcz they used after market. Now I want to do myself. What’s most small cheap I should buy compressor for just my car work only for air tools.
What air tools are you going to use? Grinder, sander, impact wrench, rachet, drill? Each of them use air at a different rate and pressure and you need a compressor big enough to keep up. Figure out which tool is going to use the most volume and pressure and shop for the compressor that can drive it plus some headroom so the compressor doesn't run too long and overheat. Volume is expressed in cfm, cubic feet per minute. Pressure is measured in psi, pounds per square inch.
If an impact wrench uses 14cfm at 90psi, choose a compressor that delivers those specs plus half more volume equals 21cfm @ 90psi if you're using one tool at a time.
