2000 Toyota Camry automatic, miles 172000. AC unit blowing hot air. System was void of Freon. Vacuumed system for 1 hr. Added 2 cans of Freon, system still blowing hot air. Manifold readings were Low side Neg -5, High side 160. I suspect Expansion valve what do you think?

Well, something is definitely plugged up to make it go negative but it could be anything. It could be the expansion valve. It could be the condenser and of course if it was really out of refrigerant and you vacuumed filled it up. It leaked out for a reason. And once they are empty of refrigerant and air gets into the system, all bets are off. The whole system could be contaminated which would ruin the dryer that would need changing. Good luck! It could be a stinker
