bought a FRAM air filter thru amazon for my Mazda 3 2012 1.6. but its not 100% fit. the filter is smaller than the original. I can fully closed the cover though. Should I continue using it? i live in the Middle East so returns will be a hassle.

But if the filter seals tightly against the housing then it's probably fine.
You have the wrong filter. It's for the 2.0L & 2.5L engines.

the whole filter fits inside the housing, but its rubber seals wont alligin with the housing as its smaller.
but can i continue using it? or it will do damage instead of help the car.
No. It's the wrong filter. And you said it doesn't seal.
