Hello all

I'm broke and can't afford a RAV 4 or CR V at the moment. What other SUV's can I consider looking at?

Thank you

How old a vehicle will you be looking at? Mazda or Subaru might be alternatives but both those makes have had their problems over the years.

Those are small crossovers.  Lots of options in that category.  Like @chucktobias said, it really depends on what year vehicles are in your budget.  Also on how many miles you drive, what you use it for, and how much room you actually need.

I think you have been around here long enough to know that the consensus is to avoid Kia and Hyundai, unless maybe it’s a lease.  But even though Toyota and Honda have the best reliability over all, there are plenty of other good cars out there, especially if you find one that has been maintained properly.

Just to get the conversation started, I’d say look at Mazda SUVs if you mostly are looking for a daily driver for commuting and road trips.  If you do light off roading or encounter foul weather, get a Subaru Forester or Crosstrek.  And if you want a true adventure vehicle (but don’t drive a lot of commuter miles) go get an XJ Cherokee, if you can find one that’s still in good shape.

Great, thanks for your help!
