I have a 2003 Discovery with a 4.6 Ford (?) engine. It ticks, the consensus is it is defective tappers from Land Rover supplier. Do you know if the tappers are the same in all 3 engine or did Land Rover change them? Can I put GM or Ford tappers in my Discovery? Thank you Scotty

Ford had nothing to do with the aluminum V8 used in those old Land Rovers. It was originally a Buick/GM engine used in the 1961-1963 Buick Special and other GM compacts at the time.

The engine was modified by Rover after GM sold it off to them so even if GM parts are still available I would not count on them fitting.
