I have replaced and repaired numerous things in my car first at Dealer, and now at Automotive establishment!
I now will be paying over $2000.00 for an oil leak. (clean and dye was performed last visit). This is a very small leak, you have to look really hard to see it.
I'm trying really hard to understand how this expensive vehicle has had so much money put in to it since I bought it!
Paid cash, kept up with all the service at a Mercedes, (and paid a fortune for that) Is it because I'm female and they see $$$$ It is immaculate, barely used, garaged, and only one driver! I'm trying to decide if I want to turn it in and go back to a Subaru,
Thanks,
Barbara
It has nothing to do with you being a woman. Mercedes Benz cars are all extremely expensive to repair/maintain. I know. I get them in my shop all the time. $2000 is cheap compared to some of the bills I've had to hit people with for leaks on those cars.
If you want cheap to maintain, do not buy a German car. Get a Honda. Get a Toyota. But not a German car.
Modern Mercedes diesels are "absolute money pits"

I would get rid of it. Its not like you will spend thousands of dollars in repairs, and then have a trouble free car. No. More things will break.
This is the reason Scotty says the European vehicles; Merc's, Bimmer's, Audi's, Volvo's etc are an endless money pit as they age.
They're really nice machines, over engineered marvels, but that comes at a price. Because they're so complex, parts are very expensive, and labor adds up quick especially when you need to get to part buried under all that stuff, and have to take half the engine bay apart to get to it. I gave up on Euro cars decades ago.
