[Solved] Animal droppings in my cabin air filter

I have an ‘09 Civic and I recently changed my cabin air filter and there were acorns and droppings in it. My question is if air flows to the cabin via the cowl where/how did the animal invade? Is there now a hole somewhere in the system that I need to find and close? Thank you

The critters come from below. The cowl drains into the wheel wells.

I hear that drier sheets are effective for keeping rodents out

check your engine air filter too, critters will build a nest in there, probably a chipmunk /ground squirrel

found a milk bone (dog biscuit) in mine once lol

@mountainmanjoe is there a way to block the wells were they came in?
