I currently drive an 85 Volvo 244 - 250K - have had it for 25 years-- trusted mechanic told me four years ago to not put any more money in in  - don’t drive a lot but want safe, reliable and quiet - and easy to get in/out as I am in my 60’s. Someone told me not to get a hybrid because I don’t drive enough...also don’t want to spend a fortune because I don’t need to use it daily. Everyone I know keeps asking me if I have bought another car yet - because I have been looking for three years....

Many of us older folk are buying Kia Souls.  Wife and I, in our 80's, were shopping for something we did not feel like climbing out of or dropping into, that was easy to see out of and easy to park at Walmart.  A Kia Soul fit that description.  We drive less than 5,000 miles a year split between two vehicles.

We have a 2008 Ford Expedition, with 60,000 miles on it, that is like riding in our recliners after we climb up to enter.  We also have a 2013 Kia Soul, with about 65,000 miles on it, that the seaT is neither high or low to enter, is easy to see out of, is fast enough to keep up with interstate traffic and speed for safety.

Now, since we do not pull a camper anymore while traveling the Expy is probably on the way out and the Soul the main ride.  Five of our "elderly" friends have purchased Kia Souls and are happy with them.

Our used Soul was less than $12,000 a few years ago and has needed nothing but regular gas and oil since then.

@jimz
Thank you!

If possible I would wait. With new geen deal coming there could be high incentives for electric and massive disincentives for gas. We are waiting  on a needed new car for that reason.

@elschmoydo
Thank you!

If you like Lexus.

They are super comfortable and high quality even after years and years.

Check you local car dealers for decent used Lexus.

According to Scotty’s recent update: customers may find better deals between Christmas and New year, or even in January.
