A lot of these companies’ products are vapor ware.  I personally would not buy a product from any company (or invest in them) until it has been out for a while and proven.  Remember Faraday Future or Elio Motors?  Also, a lot of these EV startups - what experience do they have in car design and manufacturing?  Even Tesla who has been building and selling EVs since 2012 still has lots of build quality issues.  Why should we spend hard earned money on these startups’ vehicles if they had no prior product to begin with and a track record like more established companies?  Save your money.

I was totally on board with the Aptera 1.0 vehicle.  And that bombed.  While I like the idea behind the Aptera 2.0 with long ranges and solar panel self charging, I am very skeptical of the company being able to pull it off.  It is relatively easy to pull off a prototype.  It is EXTREMELY hard to build things en masse.

That's why Toyota is taking their sweet time on EV's.  If the biggest car maker in the world is having a tough time going to scale, I can't even imagine how a tiny startup is struggling to not only generate demand, but meet demand.  I hope Aptera proves me wrong.
