I am just wondering what you think of using hydrocarbons like r290 as a refrigerant in automobile air conditioners I have rented a lot good and bad just wondering what people might think
Not a good idea. Stick with the refrigerant your vehicle requires.
Don't use anything but what the system requires. Air conditioners are extremely complex, and they are made for one refrigerant. Operating pressures and temperatures vary from refrigerant to refrigerant, sometimes pretty substantially. R12 was pretty liberal on the charge tolerance, for example. Systems took pounds of refrigerant. The new R-1234YF refrigerant uses a pound or less of refrigerant. With the wrong one, it could not work, work poorly, or even blow something up.
Yes thank you I have not done anything yet I just have an old hunger that I was trying to get the AC going home the cheap
