All,
I know Scotty does not recommend remanufactured power steering pumps, but how about water pumps (specifically from NAPA)?
Thanks.
Napa stuff is generally decent
This is a general response. For me it depends on the price difference and the cost of labor; if it's something labor intensive then personally I would prefer going with a decent brand new one to decrease the possibility of having to have the job done again if the remanufactured part goes bad.
I don't buy aftermarket parts unless they come with a limited lifetime warranty.
I prefer a job be done once and not have to redo again. If one is traveling a lot in their car (such as I tend to do), the last thing I want is a water pump to fail on me. Personally, I would avoid critical components that are remanufactured.
