I am looking into a 2016 mazda6 touring and wanted some more information. Have they become a competitor to the accords and camrys? Are they a good first car? And lastly, will they last me past 100k miles?

They will easily surpass 120k miles i dont have experience but I am vrey very sure they will be fine until AT LEAST 150k. The Skyactiv technology is pretty reliable the engines are Mazda not Ford and the transmissions are Mazda not Nissan.

Transmission problems are common with this specific year. Do your research! If I would buy a Mazda it would be a 2016 or newer one with a manual + 2.5I4 engine.

they are not as good but honestly for the price point and quality they are good. Made in Japan as well! I love my Mazda very little problems! The 2.5 L in the 6 is one of Mazda’s best engines!

If you don't mind, what year did you have? Also how's your maintenance?

2010 mazda 3 ... maintenance is just regular oil / filter, spark plug, and filters easy!
