My neighbor has a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am 3.4 liter. He has around 65000 on it and it has an automatic transmission. He has never changed the transmission fluid since he owned the car when he bought in brand new. He wants to know if he should change it now and risk slippage or just leave it alone.

Yes, drain and refill would be enough.

You can change the fluid with that mileage. Drain and refill but no flush.

He should have done it at around 40,000 miles. Hope there is no damage.
