Hello.
I am about to purchase this car that has wasn't in an accident but the carfax shows AUCTION ANNOUNCED AS STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. What does it mean?
Structural damage usually means frame damage. The Frame may be cracked from overloading, rust, etc. But I would be cautious about buying the car. I would not buy it if I could not get a good look at what is damaged.
Hy!
There you can find more information (click there).
Generally I do not prefer to buy a car if I and/or a mechanic cannot check it before.
Good luck.
If you're not running a business and buying a car for personal use, don't buy auction cars. Too much risks, just find a private seller selling a private car.
These kinds of cars with structural damage can have major issues, like subframe cracked in half or frame mangled.
