Hi,
I've got an audi a3 8p 2003 2.0 FSI petrol
My power steering never works when my car is just started up, I have to drive for around 15~ minutes, then stop the car shut it off, and turn it on again to make it work. I did had cases when it suddenly started working on it's own in a middle of a highway.
It will work fine for entire trip then, but if I shut the engine off, and leave it for around 15 minutes (again) on next start up it will throw MIL, and power steering won't work.
I think this issue doesn't come up, if I leave the ignition on, after a drive for whatever time I decide to stay parked.
It was scanned and found this: 01309 - Power Steering Control Module (J500) No Communication
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01309
Could be the electric module failing, and it needs replacing? but since they're not serviceable I suppose the steering column needs to be replaced ?
Is there anything I could look at first ? {black}
Yes, power steering is fully electric, or at least I think so, didn't see any fluids so it must run off a motor
Check all the electrical connectors for looseness or frayed wires
Will try, does by any chance know any good places to look at besides idk fuse box and it's connections ?
or just the plain search&check ?
